The Tortolita Drummers knocked off the Kansas Rainbeaus, 6-5, at Wichita Field. It took 10 innings. Eric Giles was a prime reason Tortolita won. The first baseman went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Andrew Shirley in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jonah Cervantes took the loss for Kansas. The Drummers raised their record to 5-4.
This game was not decided until Greg Kirkwood came to bat in the top of the tenth. With a runner on 3rd and one out, the Tortolita center fielder hit a sacrifice fly. The Drummers took the lead, 6-5.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Tortolita manager Marcos Costa.
