The Florence Flamingos picked up a win at Florence Field, topping the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 5-4. On the mound for Florence was right-hander Alan Sullivan. He played a principal role in the triumph. The win went to Guy Shirley in relief, making him now 1-0. Edwin Rice took the loss for Sioux Falls. The Red Pandas drop to 5-5 and continue their mediocre start to the 2061 season.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Duncan Collins came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Sioux Falls pitcher Edwin Rice, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Florence on top, 5-4.

"It feels good to get this one," Collins told the Florence Gazette.
