Starting pitcher Mario Hernández pitched well enough to help the Florence Flamingos beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 6-3. Sioux Falls, with the loss, is 5-6.

Tied up with the Red Pandas in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Flamingos got a boost from shortstop Matt Sheehan. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Sheehan saw a first pitch sinker from Robert Cote and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Florence on top, 3-2.

Sheehan attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
