7 Straight Wins for Liberty Reserves
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Reserves eked out a 2-1 win versus the Calgary Lynx at Lynx Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Roland Jamison. He was terrific. Picking up the save was fireballing 6' 7" left-hander Bill Carson. The loss puts Calgary at 8-4.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Octávio Sandoval to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Liberty Reserves on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Philadelphia skipper Kiril Neuvel. "I can't complain."
