Red Pandas Take Tight Tangle
|
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas dealt the Florence Flamingos a 3-2 loss at Florence Field. Jonathan Day, who is tied for 3rd in the SAAA in extra base hits with 6, was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Norm Coleman picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Tom Fleming was tagged with the loss. Rock DeVote recorded the save, his 3rd.
Day had a timely hit for Sioux Falls in the top of the eighth. With Sioux Falls trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Sioux Falls.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Florence manager José Mejía, "let me know."
With the win, Sioux Falls climbs to 6-6.
