The Florence Flamingos beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 8-1. Florence pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Luis Pizarro led the way. Pizarro got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Port Huron is 5-9 after the loss.

Florence used a well-timed hit by Willie Scott to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
