The losses keep piling up for the Austin Black Mambas.

The Hartford Pride defeated the Austin Black Mambas, 5-3, in USSL Triple A action at Mamba Park. Hartford pitcher Spencer McCarthy had a standout performance. McCarthy picked up the win for Hartford, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1.

Hartford used the bat of Will Hubbard to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pride ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

Hartford manager Tim Fowler was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

With the win, Hartford climbs to 6-8.
