Pride Slap 6-1 Loss on Austin
|
Hartford pitcher Alex Wicksted did his part in helping his team defeat the Austin Black Mambas, 6-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The win brings the Pride to 3-11, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Clint McBride went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Hartford. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Bob Craig. It was his 2nd walk of the season.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said McBride.
