Rainbeaus Fall, 5-2, to Monongahela
|
The Monongahela Monsters handed the Kansas Rainbeaus a loss at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Ricardo Aquino was one of the major contributors for Monongahela. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Dennis Bates claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. The win gives Monongahela a record of 7-7.
Had Aquino not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Aquino hit a run-scoring single. The Monsters took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Aquino told a Monongahela Times reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
