A good performance from shortstop Phil Maddox helped the Calgary Lynx defeat the Plymouth Rocks, 7-3. Maddox was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Lynx. Calgary is off to a hot start at 11-4.

Calgary used the timely hitting of Kurt Hensley to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lynx on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Hensley. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
