Liberty Reserve Stadium was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

In a tight tilt between the Tortolita Drummers and the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves, Norman Ayres was the deciding factor. The Tortolita right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Tortolita pitcher Todd Jackson got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Roland Jamison got the loss. Rob Green, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.

Julius Sharp, who is tied for 9th in the SAAA in RBI with 10, aided the Tortolita cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.

"Pedal to the metal" is how Tortolita manager Marcos Costa described his team's approach.

To call the performance of the 2061 Liberty Reserves disappointing is an understatement.
