Flamingos Double Up Red Pandas, 4-2
|
Florence pitcher Larry Freeland had a large part in his team subduing the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The Flamingos, with just their 4th win in 17 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Scott Mayes dealt the Red Pandas a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Florence leading 2-1, Mayes hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Freeland told the Florence Herald.
