Chuma goes 4-for-5 to Power Black Mambas Offense
The Austin Black Mambas beat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys by a score of 8-6. Austin designated hitter Jim Chuma deserved the lion's share of the credit. Chuma was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Black Mambas. Austin reliever Ed Taylor snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joe Dougherty shouldered the loss. Austin, now 15-4, is playing great baseball to start the year.

Right Fielder Titus Andromedon made an impact for Austin, when he swatted a 2-run double off Alfredo Pérez in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Andromedon was 2-5 with a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Chuma said in reaction to the win.
