Calgary got a terrific performance from pitcher Sidney Jones, but it wasn't enough to beat the Plymouth Rocks. Plymouth won the Lynx Stadium contest, 7-3. Jones threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Tony Figueroa, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The Lynx, now 7-12, continue their sluggish start.

Plymouth used the timely hitting of Kerkko Kivikoski to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rocks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Kivikoski. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
