Flamingos Drop Hot Chickens, 2-0, Behind Hernández
|
In a tension-filled contest between the Florence Flamingos and the Nashville Hot Chickens, pitcher Mario Hernández was superb. The Florence left-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SAAA in innings pitched with 32.1, spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Kun Ec closed it out for Florence, earning his 2nd save. The Flamingos now have a record of 6-15.
Hernández earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Florence. The left-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 9. Nashville hitters had little success against him.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Hernández.
