In a low-scoring contest between the Florence Flamingos and the Plymouth Rocks, Gustavo Martínez was the X factor. The Florence right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Ángel Ortíz drove in one run for Florence. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Ortíz, the 16th overall pick in the 2058 draft, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Plymouth hurler Bernie Williams, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Flamingos a 3-2 lead.
