Nashville Upended by Sioux Falls, 4-0
|
Sioux Falls Red Pandas pitcher Ronnie Gómez was in fine form, leading his team past the Nashville Hot Chickens, 4-0. Picking up his 1st save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Hensley. The win for the Red Pandas lifted their record to 14-10.
Ryan Witt dealt the Hot Chickens a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Sioux Falls leading 1-0, Witt hit a 2-1 sinker for a run-scoring single.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Gómez told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
