Calgary and Syracuse got after it at Stark Stadium.

The Calgary Lynx racked up a win at Stark Stadium, bumping off the Syracuse Starks, 7-3. António Vélez, who started for Calgary, pitched effectively for his team. Calgary, at 18-9, sits in second place in the Silver AAA.

Brent Pelaez's at-bat in the top of the third was significant for the Lynx. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Calgary trailing 2-1, the Lynx shortstop drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Syracuse skipper Homer Robertson.
