Flamingos Lose Versus Syracuse, 4-3
A 4-RBI performance from the 22-year old shortstop Walt Flowers helped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Florence Flamingos, 4-3. Syracuse sits in 4th place in the Silver AAA at 14-13.

Flowers had a key at-bat for Syracuse in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave Syracuse an early 4-0 lead.

Flowers called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
