Both teams had their chances, but the Hartford Pride eventually prevailed.

Doug Kellar pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Monongahela Monsters, despite Kellar's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Hartford Pride at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The winner was Eugene Glenn, who threw 89 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 7 hits.

Hartford right fielder Steve Allison landed a blow when he belted a solo home run in the top of the fourth. It was his 2nd home run of the season. With it, the Pride took a 2-0 lead.

"Nervous? No," said Allison. "It was my time to shine."

The Pride now have a mark of 7-20.
