Holmes drives in 6 runs to Fuel Drummers Offense
|
The Tortolita Drummers beat the Plymouth Rocks, 8-4, at Plymouth Quarry. Tortolita center fielder Marcus Holmes led the way. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Brian Rice was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Glenn Lortkipanidze. At 15-16, the Drummers claim 6th place in the Silver AAA.
With Tortolita leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Holmes hit a changeup from Glenn Lortkipanidze for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Drummers ahead, 6-1.
Holmes expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
