Drummers Lose Versus Plymouth, 5-2
Thanks in large part to center fielder Porter Howell, the Plymouth Rocks beat the Tortolita Drummers, 5-2. Howell went 4-4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. Dave Farmer sewed up the save, his 3rd. The win gives Plymouth a season record of 18-14.

In the bottom of the sixth, Plymouth first baseman Yoshihito Takeuchi put his team on top. With no one out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 5th home run of the year. Tortolita pitcher Hakizimana Kipkorir served it up. Just like that, the Rocks were ahead, 3-2.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Plymouth manager Tommy Dreamer.
