Blitzkrieg Pull Out Late-Game Win, 5-4
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg had to overcome a big game from Tortolita center fielder Nick O'Bryan to leave Port Huron Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. O'Bryan went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Port Huron reliever Luis Montáñez got the win, raising his record to 3-0. John Allen was tagged with the loss. The Blitzkrieg raised their record to 12-20.
Roy Hewat was the walk-off hero for Port Huron. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blitzkrieg right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Port Huron manager Mike Nyberg commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
