Syracuse Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
With left fielder Martinho Vido leading the charge, the Hartford Pride defeated the Syracuse Starks, 11-6, at Pride Park. Vido went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Andre Witney notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. The slumping Starks have lost 6 straight.

Early in the game, Vido had a bases-clearing double for Hartford. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Pride on top, 3-0.

Pride manager Tim Fowler wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
