Liberty Reserves Claim 4-2 Win
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Reserves got a marvelous performance from pitcher Roland Jamison. The left-hander kept the Tortolita offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Philadelphia victory at Drummers Ballpark. Jamison got the win, improving to 5-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Bill Carson closed it out for his 11th save.
Chris Cates had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for Philadelphia. With the bases loaded and the Liberty Reserves leading 3-2, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Liberty Reserves manager Kiril Neuvel.
The Liberty Reserves, at 24-11, lead by one game in their division.
