Ball Excels, But Pajaritos Win
The Norfolk Pajaritos and Monongahela Monsters obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Norfolk Pajaritos had to overcome a big game from Monongahela first baseman Ken Ball to leave Norfolk Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-7. Ball went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Robert O'Reilly. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-1.

Had Brad Harris not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Harris hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Pajaritos.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Harris, "but we got it done."

Norfolk has a record of 24-12, placing them second in the Silver AAA.
