Rainbeaus Rally Late to Nip Dogfish Head
|
In a tight contest between the Kansas Rainbeaus and the Milton Dogfish Head, Héctor Peña was the determining factor. The Kansas right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. Peña, now 4-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Dogfish Head, at 10-28, have lost 4 in a row.
Kansas took a 2-1 lead on Brad Murdoch's 9th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Murdoch hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Milton pitcher Ichiro Kumagai visibly frustrated.
