Starting pitcher Wop Letroit was a major factor in the 2-1 Port Huron Blitzkrieg triumph over the Sioux Falls Red Pandas. Letroit, now 1-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Picking up his 2nd save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Sánchez.
Port Huron first baseman Reginald Speight helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"I managed to get ahead of guys and keep them at bay," said Letroit.
The Blitzkrieg are now 15-24, while the Red Pandas fall to 22-17.
