The Monongahela Monsters soundly defeated the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves, 11-2, at Liberty Reserve Stadium. Brian Coleman, who is tied for 3rd in the SAAA in runs scored with 32, let his bat do the talking. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Monongahela. Monongahela starter Fernando Feliciano was credited with the win after throwing 94 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 6-3. Jerry Shaw collected save number 8.
Chris Blanchard, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA with a .978 OPS, contributed to the Monongahela win with a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Philadelphia manager Kiril Neuvel. "They pounded us."
Monongahela bumps their record to 30-14 with the win.
