Austin pitcher Dan Gibbs had a large part in his team beating the Tortolita Drummers, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Gibbs, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Alberto Ramos finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jon Anderson? The Austin third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Black Mambas on top, 1-0. For the game, Anderson had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
