The Sacramento Redlegs got a magnificent performance from pitcher Shem Burkholder, who stifled the Hamilton offense en route to a 1-0 Redlegs win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. José Salinas, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. With the win, Sacramento goes to 31-16, while the Thunderbirds fall to 18-29.

The game hung in the balance with one out in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 1-0, Redlegs. But Hamilton had the bases empty. The Redlegs needed an out. Colm Sergeant stepped into the box with a chance to deliver. Instead, he struck out.
