Blitzkrieg Edge Liberty Reserves, 5-4
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg and Philadelphia Liberty Reserves played an entertaining game for Port Huron Park patrons.
Philadelphia designated hitter Juan Morales had a good game, even if his team did not. The Liberty Reserves dropped a 5-4 decision to Port Huron at Port Huron Park. Morales was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win puts the Blitzkrieg at 18-30, while the Liberty Reserves drop to 22-26.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Shawn Dalton came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Matthew Rentería, he hit a first pitch splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Port Huron on top, 5-4.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Philadelphia manager Kiril Neuvel.
