The Norfolk Pajaritos had to overcome a fine effort from Nashville pitcher Takakazu Ishihara to win, 6-4, at Norfolk Field. Ishihara went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Norfolk is now 31-17.

Had Ronald McKenzie not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, McKenzie hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Pajaritos.

Norfolk manager Phil Baker praised his team's "energy."
