The Tortolita Drummers and Hartford Pride obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Tortolita Drummers beat the Hartford Pride, 5-4, in part because of designated hitter Marcus Holmes. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Andrew Shirley earned the save for Tortolita, his 9th of the year.

Carl Flowers dealt the Pride a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Tortolita leading 3-2, Flowers, who is tied for 6th in the SAAA with a .551 slugging percentage, hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
