Pajaritos Use Late Rally to Win
Norfolk took on Monongahela in front of a lively crowd.

Monongahela got a valiant performance from pitcher John Dodson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Norfolk Pajaritos. Norfolk won the game, 7-2. Dodson threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to 32-year old left-handed pitcher José Peña in relief. His record improves to 4-0. John Dodson took the loss.

Norfolk used the timely hitting of Phil Parks to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pajaritos on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We had a nice day," said Norfolk skipper Phil Baker.

The Pajaritos sit in second place in the Silver AAA with a record of 34-19.
