The Tortolita Drummers got a superb performance from pitcher Norman Ayres, but the Sioux Falls Red Pandas still won the game, 6-4. Ayres threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. Mike Pace, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Juan Luis Matos nailed down his 3rd save.

Rafael Cruz had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the eighth for the Red Pandas. Coming up with the bases loaded and Sioux Falls trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Cruz. "You've got to get results."

Sioux Falls raised its record to 29-24 with the win.
