Squirrel Monkeys Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Dogfish Head
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Milton Dogfish Head, 5-3. Syracuse designated hitter and Pompano Beach, Florida, native Zico Point du Jour, Jr. led the way. In 7.2 innings, Point du Jour, Jr. surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. Syracuse is now 27-27. Milton is 19-35.

The Dogfish Head had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Squirrel Monkeys going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 34-year old right fielder Fred Koch came to the plate. Koch hit a run-scoring triple on a 0-2 splitter from Milton hurler David Guerra. It was Koch's 2nd triple of the year.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Koch, cracking a smile.
