In a tight contest at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, the Hartford Pride edged the Hamilton Thunderbirds by the score of 3-2. Hartford first baseman Koryusai Maejima, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. David Fisher, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 2-4. The loss makes Hamilton 21-33.
Hartford grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Maejima, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in doubles with 15, hit a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Pride out in front, 2-1.
"We were in it," said Hamilton manager León Domínguez. "We just didn't score enough runs."
