Monsters Squelch Black Mambas Offense in Shutout Win
The Monongahela Monsters downed the Austin Black Mambas, 3-0, at Mamba Park. Monongahela pitcher Myung-woo Kang had a scintillating performance. The winner was Kang. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Phil Murphy. Brad Pratly earned the save for Monongahela, his 4th.

Monongahela used the hitting of Charles Brown to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Monsters on top, 3-0. For the game, Brown had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Monongahela manager Sancho Tornero said.
