The Tortolita Drummers beat the Kansas Rainbeaus, 7-3, at Drummers Ballpark. Dave Cahill, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The winner in relief was Billy Richardson. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. The Silver AAA-leading Drummers have a record of 38-17.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Cahill hit a slider from Aaron Gary for a grand slam home run. The Drummers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Cahill said.
