The Tortolita Drummers weathered a fine game by Florence second baseman Tanzan Murayama to upend the Flamingos, 8-7, at Drummers Ballpark. Murayama was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI. John Allen earned the save for Tortolita, his 5th of the year. After today's action, Tortolita sits at 21-35; Florence slips to 28-28.

Tied up with the Flamingos in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Drummers got a boost from left fielder Dan Mowat. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Mowat saw a first pitch sinker from Gustavo Martínez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Tortolita on top, 5-4.
