In a tight contest between the Monongahela Monsters and the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, Cisco Navarro was the determining factor. The Monongahela right-hander sparkled in his team's 1-0 win. Navarro, now 6-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 10, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Héctor González earned the save for Monongahela, his 12th of the year.
Had Han-seung A not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, A hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Monsters.
"I still think this team can play even better," A told the Monongahela Times.
The victory gives Monongahela a record of 33-25.
