Blitzkrieg Best Dogfish Head in Pitching Duel
|
Pitcher Juan Soto was sensational for the Port Huron Blitzkrieg in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Milton Dogfish Head. Soto earned the win. In 6.1 innings, Soto surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Juan Sánchez collected his 5th save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Blitzkrieg had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fifth, when third baseman Balanatha Simha hit a run-scoring single. The single came off David Guerra and made the score 2-0, Blitzkrieg. Simha went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Soto.
The Blitzkrieg raised their record to 22-37.
