Santa Barbara Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
The Plymouth Rocks got a magnificent effort from pitcher Juan Gutiérrez, who kept Santa Barbara hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Rocks win at Crane Field. In 6.2 innings, Gutiérrez surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Marvin McCall closed the game out for Plymouth, earning his 1st save.

Yoshihito Takeuchi helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a 0-1 fastball from Al Leonard for a 2-run home run, to give Plymouth a 2-0 lead.
