The Florence Flamingos handed the Monongahela Monsters a loss at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The final score was 5-4. Major production was provided by Jeremy Gutiérrez for Florence. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. Roosevelt Maynard recorded his 2nd save for Florence. With the win over Monongahela, the Flamingos improved to 22-40.
Florence took a 5-3 lead on Gutiérrez's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Jerry Shaw in the top of the eighth, propelled Florence to the win.
"Nice win for us," said Gutiérrez. "Now we'll go after the next one."
