Kansas wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Steve Romero, falling to the Nashville Hot Chickens, 2-1. Romero threw 9.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Nashville bumps their record to 23-39 with the win.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Waylon Meade in the bottom of the 11th. That's when he hit a run-scoring triple off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Seppo Seppänen to win it for Nashville and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"The house was rockin'," said Meade.
