Lynx Fall Short at Plymouth, 5-4
|
The Plymouth Rocks had to overcome a big game from Calgary designated hitter Tim Raines to leave Plymouth Quarry with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Raines was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win went to Joe Roberts in relief, making him now 1-1. Luis Ruíz took the loss for Calgary. Plymouth is now 31-32.
The game came to a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Plymouth trailing 4-3, Orlando Ramírez delivered the big blow, hitting a fastball from Luis Ruíz for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Rocks had a walk-off win.
"Good hitters want to be the ones taking those big at-bats," said Ramírez.
