Rich Powers Dogfish Head to 4-3 Win
|
The Milton Dogfish Head topped the Hartford Pride, 4-3, with third baseman Tom Rich playing a big role. Rich was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Dogfish Head in the win. Tommy Woods was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 19 save opportunities. The 7th-place Dogfish Head hiked their record to 27-36.
Milton grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Rich hit a 3-run home run off Jason Herbert. His 9th home run of the season put the Dogfish Head out in front, 4-1.
"Just trying to help my team," said Rich. "That's all I want."
