|
In a tight contest between the Port Huron Blitzkrieg and the Alaskan Humpbacks, Gustavo Rivera was the determining factor. The Port Huron left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. Rivera picked up the win for Port Huron, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-5. Rabi Tamir collected save number 1.
Balanatha Simha had a big 2-run home run for the Blitzkrieg in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Port Huron leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from former first round draft pick Gene Scott and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Blitzkrieg on top, 3-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Simha said after the game.
The Blitzkrieg move to 28-37 with the win, while the Humpbacks drop to 40-25.
