The Calgary Lynx got a superb performance from pitcher Pat Butler, but the Monongahela Monsters still won the game, 5-4. Butler threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Monongahela reliever Jerry Shaw picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Wan-hua Ping took the loss. Brad Pratly collected save number 9.

New York-born Matt Petty came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Monsters trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Monongahela on top.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Monongahela manager Sancho Tornero. "It's usually not just one thing."

The losing streak for Calgary has now reached 4 games.
