With designated hitter Dave Cahill leading the charge, the Tortolita Drummers defeated the Hartford Pride, 5-3, at Pride Park. Cahill, who leads the SAAA in total bases with 126, was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reliever Graeme Boucher picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Alex Wicksted took the loss. The Drummers raised their record to 26-39.
Tortolita used the hitting of Dan Mowat to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Drummers on top, 4-2. For the game, Mowat had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I know we have our doubters," said Hartford manager Tim Fowler. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
