Monsters Sneak By Lynx, 2-1
|
The Monongahela Monsters got a magnificent performance from pitcher John Dodson, who muffled the Calgary offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Monsters win at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The win for the Monsters raised their record to 44-22.
Chris Blanchard played the role of hero for Monongahela. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a 2-run home run off Luis Tobías to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"Tough loss," said Calgary manager Steve Duncan. "The kind that burns a little inside."
