Monsters Shut Out Red Pandas, 3-0

The Monongahela Monsters topped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 3-0, in USSL Triple A action at The Bamboo Forest. The standout performance belonged to Monongahela pitcher and Seoul, South Korea, native Myung-woo Kang. Kang yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-2. Brad Pratly collected save number 10.
Monongahela used the hitting of Chris Blanchard to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Monsters on top, 1-0. For the game, Blanchard had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Monsters manager Sancho Tornero, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
Monongahela has now won 4 in a row.
