Due in large part to third baseman Tim Raines, the Calgary Lynx sunk the Florence Flamingos, 9-2. Raines was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Reliever José García picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Alan Sullivan, who is tied for 7th in the SAAA in complete games with 1, took the loss. Calgary has an impressive 46-21 record.
Júlio Durán had a big 3-run home run for the Lynx in the bottom of the second inning. With Calgary leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Alan Sullivan, who is tied for 8th in the SAAA in wins with 6, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lynx ahead, 4-0.
Durán told a Calgary Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
