Tom Boswell was locked in. The left-hander led the Hartford Pride to a 4-3 win against the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves at Liberty Reserve Stadium. Hartford is now 25-44, Philadelphia 46-23.

Hartford took a 4-1 lead on Rodel Paulino's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Paulino hit in the top of the ninth, left Philadelphia pitcher Fred Briggs visibly frustrated.

After the game, Hartford manager Tim Fowler applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
