The exploits of left fielder Justin Armstrong, who leads the SAAA in triples with 5, helped the Syracuse Starks defeat the Plymouth Rocks, 9-2. Armstrong went 3-4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win belonged to Matt Dougherty in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Glenn Lortkipanidze took the loss for Plymouth. The win elevated the Starks to 38-32.

Had Jesús González not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, González hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Starks.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," González said. "We did a good job of that today."
